A. L. (Jr.) and Ruth C. Braswell, owners of Vista Pacifica Enterprises, Inc. have been actively engaged in providing 24- hour care/treatment services for mentally disordered young adults since 1972, when they joined with other family members in Braswell Enterprises, Inc., founded in 1964 by A.L. Braswell, Sr.

In February, 1988, the company spun off its separate ownership and operation of Vista Pacifica Center (108 bed locked SNF/Special Treatment Program for Mentally Disordered), Vista Pacifica Convalescent, (49 bed SNF/Alzheimer's); and Pacific Manor (64 bed Board & Care/Program for Mentally Disordered) on a common campus in Riverside. 

Additionally Vista Pacifica also operates S.M.I.L.E.S. (Successfully Maintaining Independent Living and Environmental Skills), which consists of  3 ICF-DDH facilities (6 bed  homes) located in Rialto.
